1-1 Personal Training Session

1-1 personal training sessions last for 1 hour as standard, and generally complement one of our program packages. However, times can be varied to suit your needs on a session to session basis, and the number can be as many as you require, with or without one of our programs. Special rates are also available for 5+ sessions, depending on your individual needs. Please contact us via phone or email if you would like to discuss multiple session bookings. Each 1-1 personal training session is uniquely tailored to each persons needs. We spend the time with you to find out what you want, where you are now and where you want to be, BEFORE you pay and start on your new program.

We believe that each session is about you, not about what we know. Everyone is different, and has a unique set of requirements in order to achieve each of their goals. So many trainers immediately start everyone on a the same course of exercises, a new diet or a new regime without assessing first what each person needs. We work closely with you to assess where you are now, what you like and dislike, and what adjustments to your life you can make that are best suited to you, not what is easiest for us. Once we have agreed a program together, we will continue to work with you throughout, continually assessing and adjusting as is needed to maximise your results and bring you the the greatest benefits.

To this end, each personal 1-1 training session, whether you book 1, 5, 10, anything, will include the following:

  • Free initial consultation: With all our clients, we first get to know you before setting out your new program. Whether you wish to have just one training session, multiple sessions, one of our full programs or adjust your diet, we will come to you to go through your needs, where you are now with your exercise and nutrition, what you like to do and eat, and what you don't. We will then discuss what you would like us to do, and go through what we think is best suited to you and set out your timetable for your duration with us. Though we prefer to conduct our consultations in person, if you would rather conduct it over the phone, video call, online or another method, we will be happy to accommodate your needs.
  • An important part of this consultation is for you to get to know us, not just for us to get to know you. While it is important for us to get to know our clients as well as we can in order to offer them the best advice, it is equally important for each client to get to know their trainer, and feel comfortable with them and what they are doing. Starting with a new trainer, particularly if you have not worked with one before, can be daunting and rather intimidating. People sometimes think they should know more than they do, feel guilty for not having worked harder before, worry about a new person asking questions about what can feel rather personal details about their lives. In order  for your time with us to be successful, we feel it is vital that you feel at ease with us and are happy with what we are doing, and each consultation places this at it's heart to make sure you are comfortable before you commit to what we set out for you.
  • Once your training session/s have been agreed and set out, you will receive a breakdown of what will be involved in each session in advance, so you can prepare yourself. This may involve simply outlining some of the exercises to help you feel comfortable before you start, or something specific we need you to do.
  • At your session, as expected you will be shown what your will be doing, and how to do it correctly, This will include proper technique so you not only get the most out of each exercise, but also perform them safely. You will also be told what you are doing them for, and what benefits they will bring to you, while if you book a series of sessions, you will be shown how they fit into your program and how you will progress through the sessions.
  • To go with your training session, we will also guide you through how to effectively prepare your body  for each one, including warm up techniques, stretching, pre session nutrition and more. Added to this, we shall show you how to warm down from your session effectively, as well as how to effectively manage your recovery period, an essential part of any training program.
